TAKEUCHI TOSHINOBU
Takeuchi Toshinobu (1943-2022) traversed every corner of Japan from north to south, using his camera to explore and capture the infinite diversity of his homeland. He was counted among the leading landscape photographers in his country. In addition to nature and natural forces in all their powerful and vivid intensity, the change of seasons, particularly pronounced in Japan, was at the core of his work. Guided by his pursuit of harmonious coexistence with nature, he was always searching for the original beauty of Japan, even in landscapes shaped by human activity. A natural beauty that, due to the constant change in nature, often reveals itself to the viewer's eye for only a few seconds. He also shared his knowledge of the sometimes irretrievable magic of such moments as a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts in Tokyo, the Japan Photo-Art College, and the Institute of Modern Photography.
